Full Review
The EVERGOODS ELEMENT Flat Pouch is small, highly water-resistant, and easy to use. Still, do you need a pouch that costs as much as this one? Are the added features, like waterproofness and customization, worth the price, nearly double the cost of similar-sized pouches on the market? Let’s dive in and find out!
External Components
The pouch is crafted from 420D nylon 6 with a PU laminate inside and a PU kiss coat on the exterior. The entire pouch is crafted from one piece of textile, ensuring fewer places for water to sneak inside. The material is waterproof, and the seams are radio frequency welded, so there isn’t any stitching to leave tiny holes behind that water can sneak into over time. The exterior has held up incredibly well, even in rough conditions, which is impressive, as it isn’t very thick. As usual, EVERGOODS’ use of materials has impressed.

The non-black colorways are 420D nylon 6,6, which is common for EVERGOODS products. In testing, other nylon 6,6 products have performed just as well as the nylon 6 colorways. In this case, they have the same PU coating, so we expect the same performance.
The zipper isn’t from a brand we recognize, though we’ve had zero issues with it. It’s a standard waterproof zipper, so it doesn’t have metal teeth like a regular one. The zipper head folds the two sides together, creating a waterproof seal. It works as expected, though it’s slower than a standard zipper. However, we don’t mind since it provides the added waterproofness.
The zipper pull is a poly cord, which is simple and effective. It’s easy to use and generally stays out of your way when moving the pouch from place to place.

An additional accessory loop on the corner is crafted from the same poly cord material. It is handy for hanging the pouch or attaching it inside your pack. It’s not as helpful as we initially thought, as it’s small, but it still comes in handy when you want to free up your hands.
There’s a logo window on the front of the pouch, which we’ve seen from other gear in the EVERGOODS ELEMENT line. Typically, the EVERGOODS logo is a hook-and-loop fastener, but that would be challenging to incorporate into a waterproof pouch. So, there’s a transparent window, so you can add something unique here for the world to see. You access the window from inside the pouch, but you can leave it blank if you don’t want to add anything.

We dig the look of the EVERGOODS ELEMENT Flat Pouch, which has proven durable and true to its claimed waterproofness. The materials and hardware hold up even after running it under the faucet for a minute.
Packability
You can hold the EVERGOODS ELEMENT Flat Pouch with one hand. While it’s more challenging when you have it loaded with gear, it’s still possible.

It’s small enough to fit into a large coat pocket or travel sling and easily slide into a daypack or travel backpack. It also fits into most organizational pockets inside rolling luggage, which is handy for those traveling on wheels instead of with a backpack.
The corners are cut, so they aren’t as sharp as they would have been, but the cut still makes two smaller corners, which can be uncomfortable when poked with them.

We found this size more useful than the EVERGOODS ELEMENT Drop-In, which is larger and fits fewer places. However, you can’t fit large documents inside the smaller version, so the two have a give-and-take relationship regarding usefulness. For minimalistic travel purposes, we prefer the EVERGOODS ELEMENT Flat Pouch because of the versatility its size offers.
Inside The Pouch
Inside, there isn’t much going on. There’s just one compartment, and it doesn’t have any organization. There’s a rectangle with technical information from EVERGOODS and another with manufacturing information. Apart from that and the slip where you can add something to the clear logo opening, there isn’t any organization or extras.

The pouch lacks depth, though we could easily add small tech items, like a battery bank, a small travel mouse, cables, and headphones.
You might be asking, “What is this pouch suitable for, especially regarding travel?” We’re glad you asked!
If you’re traveling with one bag, it’s nice to have a small space with extra waterproofness to stow essential items that you’d struggle to replace if they were ruined by rain. Gear like a passport, travel documents, or a phone works well here. Even if you get stuck in a torrential downpour while riding a scooter during the rainy season, you know that the things you can’t (or don’t want to pay) to replace are safe.

Or, if you live in or travel to a rainy climate often, the EVERGOODS ELEMENT Flat Pouch will keep your gear dry daily without much fuss. In between rainy days, it works like a standard pouch.
Like other EVERGOODS gear, the pouch is versatile. In a pinch, you can use it as a toiletry bag, tech pouch, or document storage, though it isn’t tailored specifically to any of those things. If you use it for toiletries, you’ll still need a clear quart-sized bag for airport security, so keep that in mind.
We often recommend Topo Designs’ TopoLite Accessory Bag because it’s versatile and easy to use. The EVERGOODS ELEMENT Flat Pouch is similar, but it offers superb waterproofness and doesn’t take up much space when not in use.

Not everyone needs this pouch, but most travelers will find a use for it!
