Since power banks are simply portable batteries you plug your smartphone into, it’s up to brands to differentiate their offerings from one another. Some mix and match the types of ports they offer, some compete on size, while others beef up charging speeds. Then, there are those who add a bit of personality to their power banks.

Ugreen’s Uno Magnetic Wireless Power Bank 10000mAh features a small screen that displays useful stuff like battery level and status along with a smiling face. Why? Well, if you grow fond of it, maybe you’ll never forget it at home—at least, that’s what we think. To learn more about our thoughts, read on.
The Rundown
The Uno Magnetic Wireless Power Bank comes in two colorways at the time of writing: black and purple. We went for the more eye-catching option of the two. Regardless of your choice, the main material is silicone, giving the entire power bank a grippy surface to help your smartphone stay in place while it’s charging. Overall, the build quality is pretty solid, even though some parts, like the kickstand, are made of plastic.

If we had any nits to pick, it would be the display. We’re not expecting iPhone levels of scratch-resistant glass. However, it’s a bit disappointing to see our sample’s display already showing micro scratches. We’ve been testing this unit for two weeks, so we could only imagine how banged up it could get over two months or more.
The display shows you relevant information, such as how much charge is left and what mode you’re using. So, for example, if you’re using the magnetic wireless charger, it will show you the percentage and that wireless charging is indeed enabled. On top of that, a variety of smiley faces will pop up to show you how much charge you have left. It smiles when full and gets progressively sadder as it runs low; the charging has been somewhat gamified, Tamagotchi-style.

As for charging, wireless magnetic top-ups follow the Qi2 standard, capped at 15 watts. It’s not quite the fastest out there where the iPhone 16 Pro Max supports 25 watts of MagSafe charging, but it’s still quite spritely. At the very least, the Qi2 standard enables good compatibility with a wide range of devices, not just Apple ones. On that note, if you’re using a case on your phone, you’ll either want a MagSafe-compatible one for an iPhone or a Qi2-supported one for an Android.
Wired charging is also supported, though you only have one USB-C port to work with, which handles both input and output. Charging tops out at 20 watts, which is, again, not blazing fast, but certainly fast enough to keep your smartphone going before you reach the next outlet.

So, how much of a charge can you get out of this? The 10,000 mAh battery suggests you can top up Max-sized iPhones twice since those have batteries between 4,000 and 5,000 mAh. But, energy transfer is hardly 100% efficient in the real world. Thus, in our experience, that translates to getting a regular-sized iPhone from 20% to 80% twice using Qi2 charging, plus full top-ups of AirPods using a cable.
You can also enable trickle charging mode with a three-second long press of the power button. This is a useful mode for small devices such as AirPods since they don’t require too much power anyway. It helps you save on power and protect your low-power devices from excessive charging.

Apart from all the useful charging modes, you can also use this as a phone holder since it has a built-in kickstand. You can either prop up your phone in portrait or landscape mode. We’re testing with an iPhone, so one neat feature is that turning it to landscape mode enables StandBy mode while charging. Once enabled, your iPhone’s display should show a clock and a calendar, like an old-school bedside clock radio.
Packability
For a 10,000 mAh battery, this unit is quite beefy. You can still technically fit it in your pocket alongside your phone, but we recommend storage inside a sling instead. If nothing else, you’ll spare yourself a toasty thigh or butt since these things charging can get warm, especially on a warm day.

As for ergonomics, we could comfortably hold an iPhone with this stuck to the rear with no issues. It’s a bit heavy and chunky, understandably so. However, the display’s prominent lip is a nice divot for your finger to rest on, so it has that going for it.
Quick Comparison
Anker also has its own MagGo Power Bank (10K). It has roughly the same dimensions and feature sets, such as having a display and a kickstand. They both support the Qi2 wireless charging standard and have only one USB-C port for input and output. The difference is that the Anker MagGo supports up to 27-watt wired charging output, though the display is off to the side and is smaller. The kickstand is also slightly different; it’s a more traditional kickstand, rather than the Ugreen’s swiveling handle style.

If you’re simply in the market for a 10,000 mAh power bank and are willing to sacrifice some bells and whistles, then the NITECORE NB10000 is also worth checking out. They’ve already gone through a handful of iterations on the design, slowly adding new features as they go. However, the core appeal is its really slim design; it’s one of the most travel-friendly power banks we’ve tested. It supports up to 22.5 watts of charging, though you’ll have to do it using a cable, which, in and of itself, can be a hassle while traveling.
