Pros
- It's a premium-feeling phone accessory
- Since it’s slim, it doesn’t add that much bulk to your phone
- MagSafe offers you some flexibility in terms of angling your phone on the stand
Cons
- The wallet has limited capacity, so it’s likely not a full wallet replacement
- Feels a bit cumbersome and clunky to use as a ring grip, at least initially
- MagSafe isn’t that strong, so it can still get caught on your pocket’s edge and slide off

A phone wallet like the MOFT Snap-on Phone Stand & Wallet MOVAS seems like a game-changer for those who are looking to condense and up their daily carry game. If a minimalist wallet is the name of the game, this phone wallet definitely shapes up to be a strong contender.
Featuring MagSafe for easy setup, a two-card capacity for those loyal to one bank and one fan club, and solid build quality, we’re eager to see how this phone wallet performs in everyday usage—let’s find out!
The Rundown
This phone wallet’s primary material is MOVAS vegan leather. They claim it’s eco-friendly and non-toxic, owing to zero pollution throughout its production process. While we’re not factory inspectors, so we can’t actually verify that, we can attest that it at least feels very solid in the hand. There’s a reassuring robustness to the way the material bends around the stand’s hinge, which we want to emphasize as it will inevitably see the most stress in everyday usage.
After two weeks of testing, there are no signs of cracking or any noteworthy damage to the material. Of course, two weeks is a drop in the bucket if you plan to use this phone wallet for a year or two, but it is an encouraging sign.
Underneath the back side of the phone wallet is a series of magnets that make it MagSafe-compatible. MOFT interestingly specifies up to 15 Newtons of force is applied, which is quite strong. In fact, it’s strong enough that you can get creative with how to mount your MagSafe-compatible iPhone, as we’ll show later.
One downside of layering this phone wallet with an already-cased iPhone is that wireless charging no longer works. Given how much material you’re putting between your phone and the power source, we’re not surprised. That said, taking off this magnetic phone wallet is easy anyway, so getting that functionality back is almost a non-issue.
In addition to a wallet, this accessory also functions as a phone stand and a grip. For the former, you simply pull and unfold the triangular base from the wallet to form the stand. This default configuration orients your phone in portrait mode, perfect for consuming short-form content, such as TikTok and Instagram Reels.
To use it in landscape mode, you can either put the entire setup on its side or rotate your phone on the MagSafe connection for a slightly more elevated position. Though there’s very little to no viewing angle adjustment, we’re quite satisfied with the limited accommodation. And if it’s your only option when riding in the backseat of a cramped van, you’ll take what you can get (as we did).
The triangular base also acts as a grip, like a ring or pop-up accessory. We like this feature because it takes a lot of pressure off your pinky finger if you’re the type to use it as a platform when you’re one-handing your phone. That said, the base’s triangular shape kind of makes it feel clunky and cumbersome. There’s definitely some getting used to initially, but the functionality is there if you want to give your poor pinky a rest.
Plenty of phone wallets have limited room since no one wants a super thick phone, and it’s no different with this one. There’s approximately capacity for two cards, with very limited flexibility. For instance, you may get away with swapping one card out for one or two bills. Just keep in mind that it’ll have to be fairly stiff bills or you’ll be pushing rope.
On that note, access to either of the two cards can also be tricky. We’ll often slide both cards out whether we want just one or both, and you must push them nearly entirely out to access the one at the back. To be fair, if you want a phone wallet this thin, this is the price to pay, but it is something to keep in mind if you plan to put your most often-used card here.
Packability
As you can imagine, a phone wallet this thin won’t have trouble fitting inside most places that your phone can’t already go. The trouble begins with magnets’ weakness. While magnets can have strong attachments, they don’t do well when you shear them off the surface they’re attached to.
In other words, if this phone wallet gets caught on the lip of a pocket, it can slip off. Our advice? Slip your phone with the back facing towards you. At least if the wallet does slip, it’s still in your pocket, sandwiched between you and your phone.
Quick Comparison
A similar phone wallet we’ve tried is the MagBak Wallet. It also acts as a stand and a ring grip but with caveats. As a stand, it only works if you’re using it with a MagBak Case, in which case the entire phone wallet folds in and out to act as the kickstand. Meanwhile, its ring grip is a built-in tab, so it’s technically gentler to hold. However, it’s also less stable than the solid triangular base of the MOFT phone wallet.
However, the MagBak Wallet has a leg up in build quality. While the MOVAS material is quite good, the MagBak’s genuine leather is more eye-catching, and our sample has developed a pleasing patina over time.
