We reached out to FLIKR to see what potency of isopropyl they recommend using, and here’s what they said:

99% isopropyl works, however, the flame tends to be taller and the stone heats up faster causing the alcohol to boil. It burns much hotter than 70% or 91%. Therefore we either recommend using 70% 0r 91%. Or, if you have 99% you could mix it with a little 70% before lighting. If you ever use 99% alone, you need to be sure you are letting the unit cool at least 20-30 min between the time it burns out the first time and refueling it.

We diluted our 99% to 70% using an appropriate ratio of water and it works swimmingly!
