Why You Should Trust Us

Since 2017, we’ve been reviewing travel gear at a rate that would alarm most travelers. When you think of travel gear, you might think of backpacks, rolling luggage, and the like, and we do specialize in those products. However, from the beginning, we’ve been testing travel adapters, laptop stands, computer mice, battery banks, and a handful of product types in between. Picking the right tech is essential for mastering your packing list, and we’re here to help you do that for whoever you’re buying for!

Strap in, and let’s get technical!

1. NITECORE NB10000 Gen 3 Ultra-Slim USB-C Power Bank
NITECORE NB10000 Gen 3 Ultra-Slim USB-C Power Bank Review

Why we like it: It’s incredibly lightweight and pocketable for its capacity

The NITECORE NB10000 Power Bank is the perfect gift for anyone who needs a power bank. Thanks to a carbon fiber frame, it’s lightweight and highly durable. The newest version has two USB-C ports—an upgrade from the previous version, which still had USB-A. Plus, both ports are in/out, which adds more versatility to the carry. On the previous version, we didn’t like how sharp the corners were, but generation three covered them with soft plastic, making it easy to stow this portable battery bank anywhere, from your giftee’s pocket to their glove compartment.

2. Logitech Pebble Mouse 2 M350s
Logitech Pebble Mouse 2 M350s

Why we like it: It comes in fun colorways and is portable

Sometimes, gifts should be practical. That said, just because something is reasonable doesn’t mean it can’t be fun. The Logitech Pebble comes in unique colorways, so you can get one that matches their vibe and is small enough to pack anywhere, so they won’t have to worry about it sliding into their tech pouch or travel backpack’s admin panel. They can connect it to up to three devices covering work, pleasure, and gaming. This isn’t the most function-heavy mouse; however, it's an excellent shout for the price and usability.

3. Yesimla USB Adapter & Cable Kit
Yesimla USB Adapter & Cable Kit Review

Why we like it: It has SIM and Micro SD storage options

We’ve all got that friend or family member (looking at you, Aunt Eileen) who loves to tinker with things. The Yesimla USB Adapter & Cable Kit is the perfect gift for that person in your life because it gives the technological tinkerer the tools they need to work on the go. It has a cable and adapter capable of charging USB-C, USB-A, Lightning, and Micro-USB devices, can store SIM and Micro SD cards, and has a SIM removal tool for changing cards on the go. Don’t get Aunt Eileen one, though; she already has one!

4. Altec Lansing Mini H2O Waterproof Bluetooth Speaker
Altec Lansing Mini H20 Waterproof Bluetooth Speaker Review

Why we like it: It has an IP67 rating, so water and sand aren’t an issue

To date, members of the Pack Hacker team have given the Altec Lansing Mini H2O Waterproof Bluetooth Speaker as a gift twice. It has an IP67 rating, so they can take it to the pool or beach without worrying about water or sand. Plus, the sound quality is suitable for such a small, budget-friendly speaker. They’ll get some clipping at the high end, and the bass isn’t perfect; however, for less than $20, you can’t go wrong with this speaker as a gift!

5. Rolling Square AirCard
Rolling Square AirCard Review

Why we like it: It works as a tracker and a digital business card

The Rolling Square AirCard is the perfect gift for the techie in your life or the person who is constantly losing their wallet. The card slides into most wallets without issue and uses the Apple Find My network to ensure they can track it no matter where they end up. Plus, they can use it as a mobile business card, and good samaritans who find the card (likely inside your giftee’s wallet or rolling luggage) can scan the QR code to return it to them! This also works with NFC scanners, which is a perk if somebody doesn’t know how to use a QR code or has a broken camera.

6. Twelve South ButterFly 2-in-1 MagSafe Charger
Twelve South ButterFly 2-in-1 MagSafe Charger Review

Why we like it: It offers two-in-one charging and is tiny

The Twelve South ButterFly 2-in-1 MagSafe Charger is an excellent gift for the tech lover in your life because they’ll like how futuristic it looks, and it can charge two devices at once. The durable and sleek aluminum body charges, and (best of all) the device will fit into their pocket or tech pouch due to its small size. If they only want to use it for an iPhone, they can utilize the kickstand to turn their phone into an alarm clock for easy access.

7. ESR HaloLock 3-in-1 Travel Wireless Charging Set
ESR HaloLock 3-in-1 Travel Wireless Charging Set Review

Why we like it: It can charge two devices and operates as a battery bank

In the modern age, even while traveling, you may have multiple devices to charge overnight. That’s a lot of cables if you use conventional means to charge every device. Luckily, the ESR HaloLock 3-in-1 Travel Wireless Charging Set can charge two devices at once, making it an excellent gift for tech-heavy users in your life. The device's primary use is to charge an iPhone wirelessly, but it also functions as a battery bank and can charge AirPods and an Apple Watch. They can charge two devices simultaneously, with the third part of the 3-in-1 system coming from the battery bank that they can take on trips around the city.

8. Logitech MX Keys Mini Wireless Keyboard
Logitech MX Keys Mini Wireless Keyboard Review

Why we like it: It’s small enough for travel and capable enough to be used at home

The Logitech MX Keys Mini Wireless Keyboard is one of our most recommended keyboards because of how versatile it is. We find it capable enough for use at home, small enough to slide into a travel backpack, and durable enough for use while on the road. This makes it the perfect gift for someone looking for a keyboard. It has a backlight, which is handy for use at night, and the keys feel substantial, which isn’t always true for travel keyboards. Plus, they can connect it to three devices, which is great for work, play, and gaming.

9. Clutch Charger Pro
Clutch Charger Pro Review

Why we like it: It has a built-in cable to charge their device

The Clutch Charger Pro is one of the smallest battery banks we’ve tested. It’s unique, too, because of the built-in cable, so whoever you gift it to doesn’t have to worry about bringing an extra charging cord. As much as we dig gear with multiple functions, there are a few caveats. As you’re buying this for someone else, you may know what phone they have, but you may not know what other devices they like to charge while on the go. For example, this might not be the best choice if they have a Lightning-powered iPhone but take their Nintendo Switch everywhere, as you can’t swap out the adapter from Lightning to USB-C—what you buy is what they get. Still, with 5,000 mAh of juice to work with and a tiny footprint, it is easy to throw in their pocket or sling and head out for the day without worrying that their phone might die.

10. MOGICS Super Bagel
MOGICS Super Bagel Review

Why we like it: It’s an adapter, extension cord, and power strip in one compact package

The MOGICS Super Bagel combines a travel adapter, extension cord, and power strip into a tiny package. Essentially, it’s shaped like a bagel, which is where it gets the name. The hole in the center is where the adapter lives, the cord wraps around where the cream cheese would go between the two sides, and additional plugs run around the outside of the bagel. It’s incredibly functional and packs down into a small package, so whomever you gift this to can save extra space to bring you back gifts from their next international trips, not pack a bulky square-shaped adapter and extra plugs for it!

11. Futurizta Tech Pixy 33W GaN Compact Travel Charger
Futurizta Tech Pixy 33W GaN Compact Travel Charger

Why we like it: It comes with swappable travel adapters

For years, everyone used the same bulky travel adapters when going abroad. They worked, but they weren’t very functional. Enter the Futurizta Tech Pixy 33W GaN Compact Travel Charger. It operates like a standard wall charger, with prongs and USB-A and USB-C ports. However, it has adapters that change the prongs on the end so that they can plug it in worldwide, from England to Japan. It isn’t self-contained like the old adapters, so they need to keep track of individual parts. However, with two ports ready to charge your phone and other electronic devices, it’s a game changer for minimalistic travelers!

12. SnapWireless PowerBase Go
SnapWireless PowerBase Go Review

Why we like it: They can charge an iPhone, Apple Watch, and AirPods simultaneously

The SnapWireless PowerBase Go can charge up to three devices at once, which is shocking even considering how big it is compared to some of the chargers we put on this list. It isn’t massive, but it takes up more space than some chargers that simultaneously power up two devices. However, we think this one is worth the size. Many travelers bring their iPhones, Apple Watch, and AirPods with them, and they can charge all three simultaneously. The person you gift this to doesn’t have to decide which two of the three they’ll charge, which is a perk of the PowerBase Go. It takes up more space, but it’s worth the bulk for heavy tech users!

13. Tribit StormBox Micro 2 Portable Speaker
Tribit Stormbox Micro 2 Portable Speaker Review

Why we like it: It doubles as a battery bank in a pinch

At Pack Hacker, we’re big fans of gear that can do multiple things. The Tribit StormBox Micro 2 Portable Speaker is a bonafide Bluetooth speaker and doubles as a battery bank in a pinch. The speaker sound quality is surprisingly good, it has an IP67 rating for water and dust protection, and it pairs with other speakers and talk on the phone with it. If they accidentally run their phone low on battery, it will operate as a power bank to give them the extra juice they need to use Maps to return to their hotel. This shouldn’t replace a battery bank, as the speaker only has a 4,700 mAh capacity that will get depleted when used to listen to music; however, the extra features are excellent and make this a worthwhile addition to any audiophile’s packout!

14. Twelve South PlugBug Slim
Twelve South PlugBug Slim Review

Why we like it: It fits into tight, hard-to-reach spaces

If you’re looking for a gift for someone constantly staying at hotels or Airbnbs for work, the Twelve South PlugBug Slim is an excellent shout. It’s a standard plug with a USB-C port; however, it’s incredibly skinny, and the port is on the bottom, which is handy for tight spaces and awkward outlets. It maxes out at 20 watts of output, which isn’t enough for large devices like laptops or some tablets. However, for phones and other small electronics, it’s a solid solution for people constantly needing to plug into awkward corners!

15. iFory Magnetic Watch Charger
iFory Magnetic Watch Charger Side

Why we like it: It’s pretty small and can be powered with USB-C or Lightning cables

The iFory Magnetic Watch Charger is absolutely tiny, and that’s why we love it. The device fits into the palm of your hand and is designed to charge an Apple Watch. The device works using both Lighting and USB-C cables, which is ideal for travel because your giftee may only plan to bring one or the other with them. We like that it has rubber feet to keep it from sliding around too much; however, it’s so lightweight that a dangling cable can make it fall off a table. Still, its size makes it easy to slide into a tech pouch, and we dig how versatile it is with two-port compatibility.

16. Rolling Square inCharge XL
Rolling Square inCharge XL Review

Why we like it: It can charge almost any device on Earth

The Rolling Square inCharge XL is an all-in-one cable with USB-C, Lightning, Micro-USB, and USB-A ports. This version of the cable comes in one, 6.5, and 10-foot versions, so you can snag one that works for their specialized needs. The build quality is top-notch, and you’ll find Aramid fiber, nylon, and Zinc aluminum alloy on the materials list, all of which hold up well. This cable can charge almost anything, making it a solid all-in-one gift for the tech lover in your life.

17. Satechi Quatro Wireless Power Bank
Satechi Quatro Wireless Power Bank Review

Why we like it: It can charge three devices at once, even on the go

All right, we get it. The Satechi Quatro Wireless Power Bank isn’t very travel-sized. However, with all the features packed into this power bank, we think it’s worth the compromise. The battery bank function works as expected, with 10,000 mAh to juice up a phone or other electronic devices. To access that power, use a USB-C or USB-A cable. Additionally, it has a charging spot for an Apple Watch and another Qi-compatible device. Plus, they can charge their iPhone, Apple Watch, and AirPods simultaneously, no matter where they are. When charging all those devices, they’ll wear down the 10,000 mAh battery quicker, but considering all the functionality, we think this one is a winner.

18. Lume Cube Panel GO
Lume Cube Panel Go Pocket

Why we like it: It’s tiny but is very bright and has versatile features

The Lume Cube Panel GO is the perfect gift for the photographer in your life looking to take their game to the next level without dedicating too much space to extra gear. It’s small enough to put in their pocket but can output 1080 lux at a half meter, which is quite a punch for such a small light. This will enable them to take better photos at night and macro shots, like food or nature. Plus, it works as a steady light for video, with various brightnesses and Kelvin ratings for different color lights. Whether you’re buying for a budding phone photographer or a seasoned pro, this light will be a great addition to their kit.

19. Rolling Square EDGE Pro Full Kit
Rolling Square EDGE Pro Full Kit Review

Why we like it: They can use it for meetings, work, or fun videos and Facetime calls

Some people live on their computers. Whether it’s for work, play, or something in between, the Rolling Square EDGE Pro Full Kit will help the computer lover in your life get more out of their devices and increase productivity. It attaches to the back of a computer so they can attach their phone, tablet, or light to add functionality. You need two magnets for a tablet, but a phone works with one. They can add more light for an important meeting, use an iPad as a second screen to get work done or mount their phone to watch TikTok videos while auditing accounts. The Rolling Square EDGE Pro Full Kit can make both more enjoyable and productive for those who use their computer for work and play.

20. Genki Covert Dock Mini
Genki Covert Dock Mini Review

Why we like it: It functions as a full-size Nintendo Switch dock in a much smaller footprint

We all know somebody who constantly brings their Nintendo Switch everywhere—the Subway, school, family gatherings, you name it. They’ve got the dock and everything. If only there were a way for them to travel without bringing such a large accessory! Enter the Genki Covert Dock Mini. It’s shaped like a standard wall plug (and can function as one in a pinch) but works to connect their Nintendo Switch to a TV without needing the huge dock that comes with the gaming system.
