Orbitkey Nest

We had a chance to get our hands on a preproduction sample of the Orbitkey Nest.

• Customizable organization on the interior is pretty much endless with the velcro dividers
• Solid case protects your gear and provides a stable platform to set anything on top—great if you don’t have a permanent workspace (feels like “portable furniture”)
• We like the idea of setting a phone on top for wireless charging, although the charger in our preproduction model is finicky and loose
• Organization pockets are smartly laid out, but don’t have much stretch and don’t feel durable—liner is already beginning to look wrinkly
• Top lid hinge/unfastening system is clever—Orbitkey nails it when it comes to innovative design thinking
• Case is rigid and inflexible so some items may not fit in the narrow vertical space—examples listed below

Doesn’t fit:

• Apple MacBook Pro Power Adapter
• RAVPower 61W PD 3.0 GaN Wall Charger
• GE Wall Tap
• Jabra Elite 65t Wireless Earbuds (a single credit card obstructs clean closure)

The prototype model continues to hold up pretty well, however, we’ve noticed some fabric issues on the smaller interior pockets. The pockets that have the fabric folded over and reinforced with stitching are working well. The fabric on the smaller pockets without this is deteriorating quickly. We hope this is fixed for backers in the production version.
